Excerpt from Jun's Letter July 7, 2008
...Our San Diego reunion was not only a success. It is a
profound proof that no matter how long it's been, how old we are now and how we
took different paths in our lives, we still have sometings in common. We are
still the same children who run the stairs and corridors of Gugua National
Colleges back 30 something years ago. We can still make jokes, take jokes
like we never grew up. During our 2 days reunion, I keep looking at everybody's
faces and you know what I thought? ... all of them are even more beautiful and
handsome now than 30 something years ago. It just made me realized at that
moment, that really... Age is mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't
matter. Nothing is more beautiful than a cheerfulness in an old face. I could
see wrinkles sneaking in in some uf us but it just indicate where the stretch
mark of smiles have been.
I am trully happy to meet all these beautiful people after 3
decades and I am very proud to be one of the people that made this reunion
possible. I am very happy to be a part a great team and it is a pleasure
working with them. I know we have plans to attend our 35th year in 2010. I
am sure not everybody can make it and that includes me and my wife. It will be
really nice to see our batchmates we left behind in Philippines. We'll just keep
our fingers cross and hope that my wife and I will be able to make it
there in 2010.
The committee will meet this weekend ( July 12) at Benny's and
talk about future plans. Due to the success of the San Diego Reunion, the
committee is looking forward to more reunions in the future. I do hope and
pray that others who didn't make it will join us and have fun with us.
Thanks Joyce for convincing me to write something :) You been a
part of all of this. You've been behind us and supporting us in anyway you can.
You've been doing a good job. You should be proud that that goal of the web site
has been met...and that is to unite us all over again. Take care
.
